First Turtle release of the 2009 Season

On September 30th, through the Letty Coppel Foundation and in coordination with the Mazatlan Aquarium, the Pueblo Bonito Group held the first turtle release of the 2009 season. Guests, employees and friends from the community participated in the release of 300 baby turtles at the Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan, a Green Globe certified hotel.

Mazatlan Aquarium briefed the attendees on the turtle conservation efforts and how  hundreds of turtles arrive on the Pacific beaches to lay their eggs each year. Since the turtles are an endangered species, the efforts of the authorities and institutions like the Letty Coppel Foundation and the Pueblo Bonito Group are so important.
