On Friday, October 1, 2010, Letty Coppel Foundation presented the support scholarships for 20 children belonging to the Program for Attention to Children and Adolescents at Risk, who receive an economic scholarship and a pantry monthly; this is done through the coordination of the municipal DIF.
The children benefited were rescued from the public highway, after they exercised various trades that prevented them from going to receive their primary education. The minors were detected in cruises of the city and tourist area where they sold newspapers, cleaned glasses, and / or sang in the trucks; DIF staff then located the parents to raise awareness of the dangers that expose their children to be working in the street, such as drug addiction, prostitution, exploitation, abuse and accidents.
The 20 children attended to receive their pantry and scholarship in companies of their parents in addition was present the Director of the municipal DIF, Lic. Ricardo Jackson and the Coordinator of the Program PAMAR.
