International Day for Elimination of Child Labour
Under the International Day Against Child Labour Program staff of Child and Adolescent Care at Risk-Pamar-conducted a workshop focusing on children, youth and parents, which examined the psychosocial risk to which exposed children working in the streets, to carry out the talks with the participation of the State Commission for Human Rights-ECHR, the Revolutionary Confederation of Workers and Peasants-CROC-and Letty Coppel Foundation.
This day is a day that should reflect, to see a child in a corner trying to earn some money from the sale of certain items or in large cities to see them cleaning the windscreens of cars while the traffic light remains red or a small selling candy on the trucks, has become so common it is assumed as normal and no longer causes much astonishment or consideration.
Since its first celebration in 2002, the International Day Against Child Labour has become an opportunity to strengthen and foster the political will and commitment to combat child labor elimination of governments and various social actors schools, universities, media, ONGs, and trade unions.
To celebrate the International Day for the Eradication of Child Labour, workshops and a march through the main streets of the town of Cabo San Lucas, which actively participated, 50 children were awarded scholarships by the Letty Coppel Foundation.
