Therefore, the Foundation’s permanent commitment is to support every action that brings, as a consequence, the improvement and well-being of our inhabitants, especially those who most need it.
Born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, the fourth of eleven siblings, Letty Gonzalez has known what it means to work to help since the age of 14, when her father abandoned her. She had to help her mother support the family. This experience undoubtedly forged her character.
She is a great reader and a devotee of exercise, nutrition, her family, and nourishing the body and the spirit. This makes her a secure and strong woman who can face adversity and achieve significant challenges.
In 1973, she moved to Mazatlan with her three young daughters, Letty, Hayley, and Babara Coppel Gonzalez, to whom she devoted herself full-time. Mazatlan became her second home and the place of unforgettable friends with whom she still keeps in touch.
The growth of Pueblo Bonito Resorts, of which she is a co-owner, once again inspired her to seek new destinations. This time, she would go to the Baja California Sur Peninsula, specifically to Cabo San Lucas, where she had achieved her most significant professional success and where her daughters had left to start their own families.
In 2004, based on the philosophy of the philanthropist Adolfo Prieto from Monterrey, “All the gold in the world means nothing. What endures are the good deeds we do for our fellow neighbor”, she decided to create “Fundación Letty Coppel”, to help those who need it the most, institutionalizing and formalizing the philanthropic work to which she has always dedicated a great deal of her time.
The Fundación Letty Coppel materializes Letty Coppel’s dreams and desires. Since her youth, she has focused on social assistance and charitable activities. In her native Monterrey, she used to visit rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, and shelters to assist in their activities and interact with the people at the facilities.
Her determination, dedication, and generosity make her maintain her objective of positively impacting the lives of children, youth, senior citizens, families, and, why not, entire communities throughout the country with the support of her Foundation.
